This list gives a more detailed explaination of the various lists, including what its overall purpose is within VSO.
- DATA_LAYOUT
- This list provides the detailed description of each of the data layout keywords used to describe data products served by VSO. Please contact the VSO Project maintainers if you cannot accurately describe your holdings using these terms.
- DETECTOR
- This list contains the common name of current (and possibly in development) detectors that VSO can search on. More information about each detector may be found within the VSO Registry. User Interface programmers should note that some names may be encoded as UTF-8.
- EXTENT_TYPE
- This list is not currently in use. When it is placed into use, it will describe in general terms the observational abilities of a given instrument, or the observed region of a data product.
- HELP
- This list contains a series of help topics for the VSO Web Interface. The location of this list may be migrated to some other location, should it become a significant to the size of this file.
- INFO
- This list provides a description of the various types of information that a Data Provider may require to complete a GetData request. Data Providers should refer to this list to ensure that they are using the keywords in a manner consistent with their intent. User Interface programmers can use this list to generate more informative prompts.
- INSTRUMENT
- This list contains the common name of current (and possibly in development) instruments that VSO can search on. More information about each instrument may be found within the VSO Registry. User Interface programmers should note that some names may be encoded as UTF-8.
- KEYWORD
- Each of the lists in this lookup file have been given a name. This list gives a brief description of the various lists.
- KEYWORD_LONG
- This list gives a more detailed explaination of the various lists, including what its overall purpose is within VSO.
- LINK
- This list provides a URL, or space seperated list of multiple URLs to visit for more information. The key is a concatination of the list name, underscore character, and the keyword being described.
- METHOD_PREFIX
- This list provides the list of data transfer methods recognized by VSO. If a Data Provider has a transfer method that does not fit into one of these categories, please contact the VSO Project maintainers. User Interface programmers can use this list to generate more informative prompts. Please see the VSO API documentation for more information about the format of data transfer methods.
- METHOD_SUFFIX
- This list provides additional qualifiers to the data transfer methods recognized by VSO. If a Data Provider needs to add more details to describe their data transfer methods, please contact the VSO Project maintainers. User Interface programmers can use this list to generate more informative prompts. Please see the VSO API documentation for more information about the format of data transfer methods.
- PHYSOBS
- This list provides the detailed description of each of the physical observable keywords used to describe data products served by VSO. Please contact the VSO Project maintainers if you cannot accurately describe your holdings using these terms.
- PROVIDER
- This list contains the common name of current (and possibly in development) VSO Data Providers. More information about the VSO Data Providers may be found within the VSO Registry. User Interface programmers should note that some names may be encoded as UTF-8.
- SOURCE
- This list contains the common name of current (and possibly in development) data sources that VSO can search on. More information about each source may be found within in the VSO Registry. User Interface programmers should note that some names may be encoded as UTF-8. Please note that 'source' is used internally by VSO to represent what the VSO Data Model refers to as 'Observatory'.
- STATUS
- This list gives a short message about the overall intent of the various numerical parts of the status codes. VSO programmers are suggested to refer to the list or KEYWORD_LONG to find an approriate status code to return for a given problem.
- STATUS_LONG
- This list gives a more detailed message about the intent of the various VSO status codes. Please see the API documentation for an explaination of the format of a VSO status message.
- STATUS_TYPE
- This list provides information to determine which component of VSO generated a status message, to aid in tracking down errors generated.
- WAVEUNIT
- This list provides a short list of the acceptable spectral units to be passed to the VSO core. User Interfaces must convert their queries to one of these units to search using VSO. Data Providers are only required to be able to understand these units.
